Hi, I’m Heather (she/her)
Want more than just talk therapy?
Are you wanting clarity in a situation?
Want support while making a life transition?
Do you want to figure out how you’d like to show up in your relationships whether brand new or ongoing?
Are you working on trying not to be your biggest adversary?
Curious about getting to know yourself a bit better?
Overview: I’m interested in helping you be your best self! I am deeply passionate about supporting people while they navigate hardships so they can turn breakdowns into breakthroughs. I generally believe we are the harshest with ourselves and I want to support each client become their own best friend and companion, because at the end of the day, we are our most important, and longest relationship. Currently accepting clients from California and Washington State.
Experience: I have been in this field for over 10 years and I support clients who are seeking therapy for personal growth, releasing patterns that are no longer serving them, and improving their interpersonal relationships.
Populations I work with: I specialize in working with individuals who are recovering from being disconnected from themselves in order to please others. When you engage in this constant “people pleasing,” you are often left feeling resentful, overwhelmed, and at war with yourself. This can show up as burnout, loneliness/disconnection, and overextending yourself in your family or work relationships. This can also look like “shrinking” yourself with diet culture/disordered eating to be “liked” but never feeling satisfied and/or constantly finding other things that are “unacceptable” or “unattractive.” I am interested in working with people who have experienced trauma related to family dynamics, interpersonal relationships, relationship violence and/or sexual assault, medical trauma, work burnout and disordered eating. I have also worked with individuals with anxiety and depression.
Therapeutic Orientation: I am a Gestalt therapist (emphasizes awareness of self, the body, and the environment) and yoga teacher (bridges the mind and body in movement, breathing, and meditation practices) who views each person as inherently adaptable, resilient, and existing within a variety of intertwined contexts. I combine yoga psychology with Gestalt therapy to create a holistic view of the person that draws on and connects mind, body, and spirit.
Areas of interest: Relationships, eating disorders, trauma, life transitions, burnout, family stress, recovering from an injury, gender-affirming care, and LGBTQIA+ supportive services.

I come to this work as a person that has gone through my own ups and downs in my life. We may not be able to choose what hardships we go through but we do get to choose how we use it as medicine towards healing for both ourselves and our communities. I have suffered work burnout, substance abuse and have struggled with disordered eating, compulsive exercise, and orthorexia. I am a white, heterosexual, woman who grew up all around the world being a “third culture kid.” I am still a work in progress but have found solace in embodiment practices that continue to teach me how to listen to my body and trust myself to lead me towards healing and wholeness. I lived in Baltimore for my Bachelors and Masters degrees, obtained my doctorate degree in the Pacific Northwest, and currently live in Bellingham, WA with my husband and Springer Spaniel named Cedar. In my free time I love cooking, hiking, backpacking, swimming, playing ukulele, and doing anything outside!
